Day 137 of 164 Days Around the World Cruise
Ålesund and Sunnmøre Museum
Ålesund is a beautiful city in Norway, located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. The city is known for its Art Nouveau architecture, which was inspired by the 1904 fire that destroyed much of the city. Ålesund is also home to a number of museums, including the Sunnmøre Museum.
The Sunnmøre Museum is an open-air museum that tells the story of the cultural history of Sunnmøre, a region in western Norway. The museum has a collection of over 50 buildings, including houses, barns, and a church. The museum also has a collection of boats, tools, and other artifacts that tell the story of life in Sunnmøre over the centuries.
The Sunnmøre Museum is a great place to learn about the history and culture of Norway. The museum is also a beautiful place to visit, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and fjords.
Here are some of the things you can do at the Sunnmøre Museum:
Visit the collection of historic buildings, including houses, barns, and a church.
Learn about the history and culture of Sunnmøre through the museum's exhibits.
Take a boat ride on the fjord.
Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the mountains and fjords.
If you are interested in learning more about the history and culture of Norway, I highly recommend visiting the Sunnmøre Museum. It is a great place to spend a day exploring the past and present of this beautiful country.
After 137 days we were in need of some Mexican food. We found Evergreens Bistro in Ålesund which satisfied our craving with a quesadilla and nachos. And to top it off we have been searching across the world for sugar free coffee syrup flavors and they have them for sale at Evergreens Bistro, so now we are set for excellent cappuccinos for the rest of our days at sea.
Definitely give them a try if you are in town and need a little south of the (US) border flavor.
